Whole Human Leadership
The inner work of leadership in practice.
We spend a lot of time teaching leaders how to lead other people.
How to communicate. Give feedback. Navigate conflict. Build teams. Make decisions. Drive performance.
Those skills matter.
But some of the most important work of leadership happens before any of them.
It happens within us.
Whole Human Leadership starts with a simple belief:
You don't stop being human when you become a leader.
We don't leave our experiences, relationships, fears, ambitions, responsibilities, values, strengths, or struggles at the door when we come to work.
We bring all of it with us.
And the more intentionally we understand and lead ourselves, the better equipped we are to lead others.
This is the inner work of leadership.
Leadership Starts With The Human
Leadership isn't simply what you do.
It's how you respond when you're frustrated.
How you behave when you don't have the answer.
How you handle the conversation you'd rather avoid.
What happens when your ambition collides with your capacity.
Whether you can hold someone accountable while still seeing the human being in front of you.
How you navigate success, disappointment, relationships, boundaries, change—and the seasons when life demands more of you than you expected.
Because the person you are doesn't disappear when you step into leadership.
Who you are shapes how you lead.
Whole Human Leadership creates space to develop both. Not just the leader. The whole human.
The Whole Human Leadership Approach
Leadership isn't just a role you play. It's who you are becoming.
Whole Human Leadership is built around four interconnected dimensions of how we lead and live.
It's not enough to know what good leadership looks like. Sustainable leadership requires clarity about how we think, connection in how we relate to others, alignment between what matters and how we act, and practices that allow us to live those things consistently.
When all four are aligned, leaders thrive—and so do their teams.
You Are Part of the Equation Too.
Leadership asks a lot of us.
We make decisions. Care for people. Solve problems. Carry responsibility. Push toward goals. Keep things moving.
And somewhere along the way, it can become easy to account for everyone and everything except ourselves.
Whole Human Leadership asks us to notice when that happens.
Maybe your Head knows what needs to change, but your Heart is making the conversation difficult.
Maybe your Purpose is clear, but your Habits aren't supporting the life or leadership you say you want.
Maybe you're so focused on showing up for everyone else that you've stopped paying attention to your own capacity, boundaries, relationships, or well-being.
The goal isn't perfect balance between Head, Heart, Purpose, and Habits.
It's alignment.
It's noticing when something feels off. Getting curious about why. Reflecting honestly. Making an adjustment. And choosing again.
Because the leader isn't separate from the human being doing the leading.
You are part of the equation too.
And taking yourself into account isn't selfish.
It's part of leading as a whole human.
The Inner Work of Leadership in Practice
The journal brings Whole Human Leadership into practice—one week, one question, and one honest reflection at a time.
Created for women navigating leadership across work, home, relationships, ambition, and everything in between, the journal creates space to reflect on how you're leading, what you're carrying, and what may need your attention.
No perfect answers. No perfect balance. Just space to pause, reflect, and choose how you want to show up next.

Whole Human Leadership at Work
The inner work of leadership doesn't end with the individual.
When leaders bring greater clarity, connection, alignment, and intention into how they lead, it changes how they communicate, hold people accountable, navigate difficult moments, and ultimately how their teams experience leadership.
Through Phoenix People Partners, Whole Human Leadership principles can be brought into leadership development, workshops, retreats, and experiences designed for organizations and teams.
Lead From the Ashes
Where the ideas meet real life.
Whole Human Leadership is the framework.
Lead From the Ashes is where I explore what it looks like to live it.
These are reflections on leadership and life—and the places where the two inevitably collide.
Grace. Ambition. Relationships. Motherhood. Identity. Boundaries. Resilience. Failure. Growth. Work. Purpose.
And the lessons we sometimes find in places we weren't looking for them.
Because the inner work of leadership doesn't only happen at work.
Leadership isn't separate from who you are.
You can care deeply about your people.
Pursue ambitious goals.
Build great teams.
Create a meaningful career.
Show up for the people you love.
And still make room for yourself in the equation.
You don't have to become less human to become a better leader.
You become a better leader by becoming more intentional about the human you already are.
That's Whole Human Leadership.
